This story began with news that Tony Pulis was to meet Steve Parish this evening in London for showdown talks after the two were reported to not see eye to eye on how to love the club forward.

Pulis who took over with Crystal Palace bottom of the Premier League doomed on 4 points steered the club to the dizzy heights of 11th with an unbeliavable run in the second half of the season, now walks away from the club less than two days before season opener.

Crystal Palace fans are in shock and some have gathered outside the ground to vent their anger at the decision which sees them in a perilous position with little time to recover before taking on Arsenal on Saturday evening.

The subject of the meeting is reported to be the transfer policy of the club, having missed out on key summer targets Pulis wanted clarification on the clubs summer business and Parish told him there and then he couldn’t guarantee Pulis’ job for the Arsenal game.

Talks began today in the early afternoon with just the two in the meeting and it’s thought Pulis wanted much more money to spend than what Parish was prepared to give, the result is Pulis has left by ‘mutual consent’ and Palace begin looking for a new manager right away.

Pulis felt that he was the man to push the club forward and away from a relegation dogfight, he wanted the club to aim for top 8 and he wanted an ambitious transfer fund. With the club surviving 2 administrations in the not to distant past Parish gave a clear message he couldn’t supply the funds and an emergency meeting was called to sort things out once and for all.

Palace face Arsenal away on opening day then welcome West Ham at home before a trip up north to Newcastle on 30th August, but who will they have in charge for these fixtures?
