Celebrating two years in charge for Jurgen Klopp- Best Jurgen Klopp moments

Jurgen Klopp has brought passion, memories, and most importantly, progress to Anfield. So here we look at the best Jurgen Klopp moments since he arrived at Anfield.

Upon arrival, Klopp was known for his charismatic, lively and passionate personality from his time at Borussia Dortmund. He thrived under the spotlight and portrayed himself as a friendly, happy man who didn’t take his job or life too seriously. So now, we have the best Jurgen Klopp moments since he arrived at Liverpool.

We’ve seen more of that same behavior during his time at Liverpool, and we’ve picked out 10 special Jurgen Klopp moments from the last two years that brilliantly sum up the fantastic character that is Jurgen Klopp.

Top 10 Best Jurgen Klopp moments:

10) ‘The Normal One’

There are two ways to introduce yourself to English football. One is the way of Jose Mourinho, who’s self-confidence grabbed the spotlight as he branded himself ‘The Special One’ in his very first presser as Chelsea boss. Or, the complete opposite, the Klopp approach, humble but quietly confident. So humble, you describe yourself and ‘The Normal One’ the first time you face the press. Klopp’s opening press conference was insightful and fascinating as he laid down his ambitions for his time as Liverpool boss.

9) Thanking the Kop

After previously stating he felt ‘lonely’ with crowds leaving Anfield early in a 2-1 loss to Crystal Palace, Klopp gathered his players to thank the Kop for a tremendous atmosphere at the end of a dramatic 2-2 draw with West Brom at home, after a late equaliser from Divock Origi. Mocked by other fans, this symbol of appreciation is something brought from Germany, and was applauded by the press and Liverpool fans.

8) Pre-match interview in a tearoom

Jurgen hilariously gave his pre-match interview in a tearoom in January in Liverpool’s 3rd round FA Cup game away at Exeter. The game was drawn 2-2 and Liverpool won the replay 3-0, but this moment stuck out and he joked with his interviewer and resident tea-ladies about the conditions at the lower league club.

7) ‘I can’t forget this f****** loss to Crystal Palace!’

After just a couple of months in charge at Anfield, Klopp was asked how he rated his start at Liverpool boss. After 10 games or so, Klopp had enjoyed a pretty good start, but the blot on his record was a 2-1 home loss to Crystal Palace. Klopp brilliantly swore in his conference to express his frustration at the loss, saying ‘I would like to change my personality on these things but I just cannot forget this f****** loss to Crystal Palace!’.

6) Monday Night Football appearance

When it was announced that Klopp would be appearing alongside Jamie Carragher on Monday Night Football, many fans were excited and the actual event brought a masterclass of tactical insight from Jurgen. He discussed his teams performances this season, the most dangerous players in the league, and what he expects to bring to Liverpool in the future, it was a delight for all football fans watching.

5) ‘Bayern lost. Haha!’

Speaking after Liverpool’s 3-0 Anfield win over Manchester City in the league, Klopp was asked in a post-match interview about other positive results that night for Liverpool, and what he was targeting with the points totals getting tighter at the top. In response he said, ‘I haven’t heard about other results…um..I heard Bayern lost. Haha! But that isn’t too important for us’. One of the funnier Jurgen Klopp moments.

4) ‘Boom’

Again, speaking after the same 3-0 win at Anfield, Klopp was asked to sum up his feelings about his team’s performance against the same team that had beaten them in a Capital One Cup final just 4 days before. Klopp’s simple response was, ‘Well, the best word I can say to describe this was…BOOM!’

3) Learning scouse with a young fan

In his early days as boss, Klopp got himself involved with this lighthearted video with a young local fan who taught the German some common scouse phrases to get him up to speed with the colloquialisms of the local people in Liverpool.

2) Gary Lineker interview for the BBC

Another outstanding interview with the Match of the Day present where Klopp was once again professional, insightful and light-hearted as the pair discussed the Anfield atmosphere, where away games are, and Klopp’s managerial philosophy. The interview aired on BBC and was a fantastic watch for any Liverpool fan. It was one of the best Jurgen Klopp moments since he arrived at Liverpool.

1) Losing his glasses in the Norwich celebrations

In the dying moments of stoppage time in one of the best Premier League games of last season, Adam Lallana scored a dramatic winner for Liverpool as they took the points with a 5-4 win at Carrow Road. The players all made their way over to the touchline to celebrate the win, and the German had his glasses broken in the huddle. Jurgen Klopp has shown his passion plenty of times at Liverpool, but this moment takes the cake as the best Jurgen Klopp moment since he arrived at Anfield.
