The transfer season is steadily marching towards closure after the Premier League window slammed shut on 8 August. Next up, the transfer window in Italy will close on 23 August followed by the global shut down transfer season shut down on September 2.
Like its predecessors, this summer had a bunch of exciting deals in store for the footballing fraternity. Still with about three weeks left to go, don’t bet on yet another blockbuster signing taking place before the climax.
That being said, let’s have a look at the ten most expensive deals that have been cracked this summer.
10. Tanguy Ndombele (Tottenham) – £63M
Tottenham Hotspur, owing to their deadline day drama, were one of the clubs to watch in the transfer market this summer. However, the Tanguy Ndombele acquisition was completed way earlier than that.
The Frenchman chose to play for Mauricio Pochettino’s side after rejecting a number of European heavyweights. He became the club’s costliest signing in their history following a successful season with Lyon.
Ndombele is exactly the robust midfielder that Pochettino was in need of. With Moussa Dembele’s departure, Tottenham were searching for a guy with the same traits as the Belgian, who functioned in a holding midfield role. Needless to say, they have found the perfect man who has fit in seamlessly in Pochettino’s lineup.
