Top Ten Most Hated Men In The World of Football

Previously we published the Top 10 Footballers Arsenal Fans Hate The Most & Top 10 Most Hated Premier League Teams in 2015 if you haven’t seen them make sure you do after this list of the Top 10 Most Hated Men In World Football.

Here are the Top 10 Most Hated Men In World Football.

10. Sepp Blatter

Staring the short list of the Top 10 Most Hated Men In World Football is former FIFA President Sepp blatter, Sepp has been president of the federation since 1998 until he was disgracefully forced to retire in 2015. He was slapped with an 8 year ban from sporting events after he was found guilty of making disloyal payments of $2 million to former UEFA president Michel Platini who is also currently serving an eight year ban too from sporting events. Well this only added to hate on Blatter but he is also hated because he has been on the throne for FIFA presidency for too long and was not willing to retire so soon. People thought maybe it was time for a new president but Blatter never stepped down as FIFA president.

9. Mike Ashley

Coming in at number nine is Newcastle owner Mike Ashley. Even though he has promised not to leave the club until the clubs wins some silverware, that has not taken back the hatred the fans have on him as the team has not won silverware for over 20 years now. Mr Ashley has spent his tenure selling off the big star players to other teams which saw the team get relegated last season. Now he is trying to sell the club and the Geordie fans still hate him.

8. Jose Mourinho

Considered to be arrogant, selfish, smug and other sots of bad stuff, Jose Mourinho is one of the best managers in the world no doubt about that.  I’m not sure the main reason why Jose Mourinho is hated is it because of his success ? Well Jose Mourinho has been a success for every club he has managed and is the greatest manager for his beloved club Chelsea football club but was sacked at the club after two seasons in which he managed to win a Premier League title and the Capital one Cup.

The Portuguese manager is a major success but does not last more than three years at clubs he managed before he get’s sacked or angering people around him. Overall Jose Mourinho is a great manager and many players would like to work under him.

7. Massimo Cellino

Another club owner makes this list of the Top 10 Most Hated Men In World Football because of the decisions they have made over managerial changes and transfer mostly. The Italian Massimo Cellino is the owner of English club Leeds United he has shown that he is the boss by firing a number of managers at Leeds in such a short term.

Not only was he upsetting the managers, he also managed to upset the Leeds fans when he bought the club and his first order of business was to sack the loved and popular manager Brian McDermott. After the anger shown by the fans after this decision he went to plead back to Brian but the fans were still not happy for the decision he made in the first place and also were not happy of where the club was going under the Italian.

6. Ched Evans

Ched Evans was convicted of rape, and during his return to football after serving half of the five year sentence he was slapped with, the Wales international was released in late 2014 even upto now he still maintains his innocence after being found guilty of raping a 19 year old.

Well the saying forgive and forget does not apply here as the Sheffield United fans have not forgiven their former star and have barely forgotten the incidence.

5. John Terry

Closing down on the top five is Chelsea’s captain John Terry. I’m guessing we have all heard about the story of John Terry having an affair with teammate Wayne Bridge’s girlfriend which led to Wayne Bridge quitting the English national team and John Terry was stripped off his captaincy for England. Other than this, other things that make John Terry one of the most hated men in football is his racists comments on the field, cheating on his partners and other controversial scenes which included parking his car on the disabled spot, cheating on his wife with several ladies and assaulting a nightclub door bouncer which he claimed was self defense.

4. Louis van Gaal

Manchester United boss takes up fourth place on the Top 10 Most Hated Men In World Football. The question here is Why is Luis Van Gaal hated? The Dutch manager is one of the finest managers in football at the moment but his one and a half year tenure at Manchester United was a disaster. Despite helping Manchester United finish fourth in the Premier League from seventh under David Moyes, Manchester United fans still hate the manager because they think Manchester United were playing boring football. No lie Manchester United have been playing poor football these days, the play with a lot of possession but without any penetration.

The Red Devils fans are very unhappy with the new Manchester United style of play, what Luis Van Gaal calls ”Philosophy”.

3. Luis Suarez

Well this list would have not been complete without Luis Suarez in it, well I personally hate Luis Suarez behavior on the football field I cannot deny this player is outstanding, I would say he’s third to Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. Luis Suarez is hated by many because of his cannibal and racist manners. The Uruguayan international joined Spanish giants Barcelona from Liverpool after the World Cup.

The Barcelona man was caught on camera biting Giorgio Chellinie’s shoulder and this was not the first time the Uruguayan did such an act even at Liverpool he bit Chelsea’s defender Branislav Ivanovic on the arm.

During his time at Liverpool he was caught in the act of racism with Patrice Evra, overall Luis Suarez football career has been controversial and has been filled with ban after ban.

2. Sol Campbell

In second is Sol Campbell, well they say forgive and forget right? well Tottenham Hotspurs have not forgiven the former English footballer even after 15 years have passed since his move to bitter rivals Arsenal, the Arsenal rivals still hate the player who won 73 caps for the England national team, he also went on to win two Premier League titles and three FA cups, Spurs fans have never considered to forgive the former Arsenal man upto now even his chants still go around the stadium.

1. Cristiano Ronaldo

And the most hated person in football goes to none other than Cristiano Ronaldo. Well people say he’s arrogant and boastful but all I can say is Cristiano Ronaldo is a great player, one of the best to ever grace the footballing world. Without any doubts Cristiano Ronaldo is an inspiration to young footballers through his hard work and determination. Many football fans hate him because they say he is full of ego. He is closely compared to FC Barcelona forward Lionel Messi who many prefer over Cristiano Ronaldo in terms of his behavior.

Away from being the most hated footballer, What people do not consider is the help Cristiano Ronaldo renders to the community, Cristiano Ronaldo makes money donations to Charities and people in need and also donates bloods to hospitals thus he doesn’t have any tattoos on his body.
