Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Paulinho is set to miss up to a month due to ankle ligament damage.
The Brazilian international, who has settled into Premier League life comfortably at White Hart Lane, was forced off during the side’s 3-0 victory against Stoke City on Sunday after receiving a heavy challenge from Charlie Adam.
The injury means Paulinho will miss some crunch games including; Manchester United and Manchester City in the league, as well as the North London Derby against Arsenal in the FA Cup.
A statement on Tottenham’s official website read: “Following a MRI scan, the Club can confirm that Paulinho has sustained significant ligament damage to his right ankle after a heavy challenge from Charlie Adam during Sunday’s win against Stoke City.
