Tottenham Hotspur are not only uninterested in finding a short term solution for Harry Kane’s injury but they are willing to dispose off the one player who can fill into the Englishman’s shoes upfront – Vincent Janssen.

Reports claim that the Spurs are looking to sell Janssen off by the end of the January transfer window for as little as £12m. The Dutchman must have been pretty disappointing for Mauricio Pochettino to ship him out at exactly at this point of time.

Tottenham’s front line is bleeding without Harry Kane. Heung-min Son is also absent due to his international duties with South Korea in the Asian Cup. They struggled to go past Fulham with Fernando Llorente in the sole striker position but still got a 1-2 away win at Craven Cottage through Harry Winks’ injury-time effort.

Janssen has returned after a long injury to train with the club’s U23s. He arrived at White Hart Lane in the summer of 2016 on a £17m transfer fee from AZ Alkmaar.

The 24-year-old has managed only 6 goals and 4 assists in his 36 appearances for Tottenham, spending the previous season out on loan with Fenerbahce. His contract is set to run for another season but it is unlikely that he will stay beyond the current one.

Burnley are reportedly interested in Janssen but his price point might still be far too high for Sean Dyche.
