Mourinho plotting to rob Wenger

Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsey has emerged as a shock target for Jose Mourinho at Manchester United this summer.

Ramsey has impressed so far representing his country, Wales, at Euro 2016 in France, and he’s caught the eye of new United boss Mourinho, who, if he cannot capture Borussia Dortmund’s Henrikh Mkhitaryan this summer, will turn his attentions to Arsenal’s Ramsey.

Dortmund have already lost Ilkay Gundogan to Manchester City and Mats Hummels to Bayern Munich already this summer, so it’s unlikely they’ll want to let another one of their stars go. Mkhitaryan was part of a very dangerous Dortmund front 3 last season, often linking up with Marco Reus and Pierre-Emerick Aubamayang- who could also be Manchester City bound, it’s thought.

So, now Mourinho is ready to turn his attentions to the in-form Ramsey. It would be a very bold move, with Arsenal and United always very fierce rivals, and given Mourinho’s history with Gunners boss Arsene Wenger, it would be more than likely that Mourinho will face heavy resistance from the Frenchman.

However, they’re willing to test the water with an initial bid of £35million should Dortmund refuse to do business, and that is a fee that United are willing to raise to potentially over £50million to get their plan B. Arsenal have just spent £30million on Swiss star Grenit Xhaka to add to their midfield, so may be looking to potentially offload one or two players. Mesut Ozil, Santi Cazorla, Jack Wilshere, Francis Coquelin and  Mohamed Elneny are all vying with Ramsey for a midfield role.

It’s also well-known that Arsene Wenger is a huge fan of Leicester City title winner N’Golo Kante, who is also currently impressing at an international level with his home nation, France. If Arsenal move to sign Kante, that adds another midfielder to the mix, which would surely mean the club would be looking to ship out one or two players to gain some cash back and have a little less competition for starting XI places.
