Manchester United have turned their attentions to Bayern Munich midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger, after seemingly missing out on Thomas Muller.
Muller pledged his future to Bayern yesterday after agreeing a new 5 year contract at the German club, casting doubt over long-serving Schweinsteiger.
United have been keeping a close eye on Schweinsteiger’s situation at Bayern, and it is understood the club are now willing to bid £23m for the midfield star.
The Red Devils are desperate to bulk up their midfielder for next season, with Darren Fletcher appearing to be suffering from an injury which could see him miss the start of the season.
