Real Madrid legend Jorge Valdano has heaped praise on James Rodriguez for his recent performances for Los Blancos. Since his return from a two-year loan spell at Bayern Munich, the Columbian has been one of Real Madrid’s best performances this season.
James was touted to leave the Spanish giants this summer but stayed put in the end. And, Valdano believes the 28-year-old is making most of the opportunities given to him by Zinedine Zidane.
“James is a world-class player and if he is able to commit himself like he has, we have a player who is going to give another leap in quality to the squad,” Valdano told Onda Cero.
“He is more mature and has learned along the way.
“I am convinced that he will be able to take advantage of this second chance and he will perform at his level.”
James has also been seen backtracking and doing defensive work whenever Real Madrid have been under threat. He is set to feature once again when Real Madrid take on cross-town rivals Atletico this weekend.
