Manchester United boss could have signed star in January
Manchester United manager, Louis Van Gaal, reportedly turned down a chance to sign Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid in the January transfer window.
According to a Spanish journalist, Ronaldo’s agent, Jorge Mendes, offered Van Gaal the chance to re-sign the Portuguese star, but he turned the opportunity down.
Alfredo Duro is reporting that Mendes met up with United’s chief scout, which is Sir Alex Ferguson’s brother, and offered him the chance to take Ronaldo back to Old Trafford, but after the scout informed Van Gaal, the Dutchman rejected the chance.
The 30-year-old has been strongly linked with a move away from Real Madrid, but after United have reportedly turned down a chance of a reunion, the winger may be set to remain at the Bernabeu.
