Goalkeeper Victor Valdes is set to have a medical at Liverpool after terms between the club and the Spaniard were agreed for a move.
Valdes is curretnly a free agent after leaving Barcelona at the end of last season, a move to Monaco seemed to be on the cards, but collapsed to due fitness worries, as a result, Liverpool have made thier move.
Reports are claiming that a contract has been agreed, but Valdes still has to undergo a medical before he signs it.
Brendan Rodgers has ordered a thorough test for Valdes, who has been nursing anterior cruciate ligament damage, which has ruled him out since March.
Liverpool have left space for the 32-year-old in their 25-man squad and are able to sign him outside of the transfer window as he is a free agent.
It’s thought that the Spain international has agreed a two-year contract and he will go head-to-head with first-choice Simon Mignolet to be the Reds’ regular shot-stopper.
