We fear no-one, insists Flamini

Arsenal midfielder Mathieu Flamini has insisted that the club do not fear anyone in the Champions League and won’t mind who they get drawn against in the last-16.

The Gunners, who performed so well throughout the group stage, ended it on a sour-note, falling to a 2-0 defeat to Napoli in Italy, which meant they finished the group in second-place behind Borussia Dortmund, who beat Marseille 2-1 on the night.

Finishing in second means Arsene Wenger’s men will have to face one of: FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain or Atletico Madrid in the last-16, but Flamini is adamant that the players do not care who they face.

“It was one of the hardest [groups] because you have a team like Napoli who have not qualified and we have finished second, level with them on 12 points,” the France midfielder said.

“We will play a big team, but we knew that. Anyway, if you want to go to the final and try and win something, you have to play the big teams.

“I do not really have a preference, so we will see what happens with the draw.
