Lack of European football could harm the playing squad
According to reports, Diego Costa, Eden Hazard, Thibaut Courtois and Willian will all consider their Chelsea futures as they search for Champions League football.
The Blues are 12th in the Premier League table and despite their upturn in fortunes under Guus Hiddink, they are still 14 points of fourth-placed Manchester City.
It seems that their only way of qualifying for next season’s Champions League is by winning the current tournament, but that looks unlikely as they are 2-1 down to Paris Saint-Germain going into their knockout round second leg at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday 9th March.
However, there is a positive aspect of these rumours. It looks as if Willian is set to sign a new four-year deal with the West London club, which would see his wage increased to £120,000-a-week in order to brush off interest from Bayern Munich and Juventus.
