Zenit St. Petersburg midfielder Axel Witsel is a £32.5 million target for Manchester United, with the Belgian being scouted by the club.
The 26-year-old has hinted he would like to make the move to England, with the club now pressing ahead with their proposal to sign the Belgium international.
A large fee of £32.5 million would be needed to prize him away from the Russian club, the same amount they paid Benfica for him back in 2012.
Witsel has also been linked with Juventus, after scoring 11 goals in 89 games for Zenit, and is a key member of the Belgium squad whose most recent performances have made them ranked fourth in the world.
