The nominees for the 2013-14 PFA Young Player of the Year Award have been announced, and three out of the six all come from Merseyside.

Liverpool’s Raheem Sterling and Daniel Sturridge, who is also up for the Player of the Year gong, have been shortlisted, alongside Everton’s Ross Barkley.

The other three nominees are; Southampton’s Luke Shaw, Chelsea’s Eden Hazard, who’s also been nominated for Player of the Year, and also Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsey, despite the Welshman missing half the season due to injury.

All six individuals have been in superb form for their respective clubs, and in their own right deserve to win the award.

Sturridge and Sterling have been crucial in Liverpool’s title-race and could be part of the first ever Liverpool team to win the Premier League, whereas Hazard has guided Chelsea to second in the table, and still in with a chance of title glory.

Barkley and Shaw have been the big breakthrough performers this season with both of them fighting for a spot in Roy Hodgson’s World Cup team, and Ramsey has been by far the most improved player of the season, especially before his serious injury in December.
