Podolski has Arsenal future, says Wenger

0

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Lukas Podolski still has a future at the club, despite strong reports linking him with a January departure.

The German international has struggled to cement a regular first-team place under Wenger at the Emirates Stadium, and with new signings coming in, his status in the pecking order has dropped even further down.

With the January transfer window coming up, the 29-year-old was open about his future recently and admitted that if the situation doesn’t change, he will look to move on in order to gain regular first-team football, but Wenger has reassured the German by saying he still has a role in North London.

“It is quite simple, there is no transfer market at the moment. When there is no transfer market, you are all on board – or not on board. It is like that.

“This is a job where you can only be successful if you’re fully committed. You cannot be half in and half out, so all this transfer speculation is not considered at all.

“We are all on board to get results, and Podolski will be part of that.”

Arsene Wenger gives positive update on Giroud

0

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed that striker, Olivier Giroud, could be back quicker than first thought after recovering well from a broken foot sustained in August.

The French striker picked up the injury in a bizarre fashion after blocking a clearance from an Everton defender back in late-August, and after the game, it was confirmed that he had broken a bone in his foot, and was set to miss up to four months.

However, in a recent interview, Wenger has revealed that the striker has reacted well to the surgery and could be back sooner than expected.

“Olivier Giroud is recovering very well,” Wenger told beIN Sports.

“I believe he is ahead of schedule in terms of rehabilitation. The operation went perfectly.”

Riri ready to open talks over a deal to buy Liverpool!

0

Rihanna is set to take her new found love of football to the next level – by launching a bid to buy Liverpool. Seriously.

The pop queen entered our hearts during the World Cup in Brazil, by brilliantly live-tweeting matches and adding her own killer insight.

And amid reports that she has been looking to invest in an English football club, Spanish newspaper El Mundo Deportivo says Liverpool are the team of choice.

The paper says she has been advised by close friend and Chelsea striker Didier Drogba to make an offer for the Anfield club.

Liverpool are currently owned by John W. Henry’s Fenway Sports Group and it’s unlikely that they’d want to sell, meaning Anfield may may be spared a Rihanna takeover.

Still, we so want this to happen. Just because.

Emre Can reveals why he joined Liverpool

0

Liverpool midfielder Emre Can has revealed that a chat with Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers convinced him to join the club.

The German had an opportunity to re-join Bayern Munich from Bayer Leverkusen, but turned down the chance to re-sign for Pep Guardiola’s Bundesliga title holders.

Bayern inserted a buy-back clause following a ÂŁ4 million move to Leverkusen in 2013, however Can decided to turn down a return to Baveria, and link up with Liverpool.

And a conversation with Reds gaffer Brendan Rodgers, shortly before signing, convinced him to to sign for the Merseyside outfit.

“There were some discussions with Bayern this summer but I decided the best thing for me would be to accept the opportunity to come to Liverpool.

“Before I came here I had discussions with Brendan Rodgers and that made my mind up. From those talks I was very positive about this move.

“This whole club is very ambitious and positive about how it wants to play football. That’s the way I want to play football, too.

“Liverpool believe in the same things and that’s why I came here. I want to stay here for a long time.”

Varane on Chelsea’s radar

0

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is keen to add to his defence in January with Varane being one of his main targets. Unfortunately for Mourinho he believes that Varane will stay put with the European champions.

“I like Varane, but everybody knows that he will stay at Real Madrid,” Mourinho told Telofoot.

He also added “France has a lot of good players like Varane, Pogba, Benzema and Lloris. They can win Euro 2016. I have a lot of respect for Deschamps. In the World Cup, we saw a great French team.”

Mourinho had previously worked with the young French defender at Real Madrid and believes he is going to be one of the exciting French players at Euro 2016.

Ozil And Out!

0

Arsenal’s ÂŁ42 million pound flop Mesut Ozil is ready to leave the club as soon as January.

Since arriving from Real Madrid, the German playmaker has failed to make an impression on many Gunner’s fans, and is now reportedl unhappy at the Emirates.

It is understood that Ozil is already looking to quit the club even before he returns from his knee injury that has ruled him out until next year.

The World cup winner is thought to have fallen out with manager Arsene Wenger due to his positioning on the pitch, with Wenger using Ozil as a left midfielder rather than in an attacking midfield role.

Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich are prepared to step up their interest in Ozil, and are expected to lodge a ÂŁ30 million pound offer to Arsenal once the transfer window re-opens in January.

This would see Arsenal lose ÂŁ12.5 million on Ozil, but could however fund a move for Madrid’s Sami Khedira.

Man United prepare ÂŁ4m Vlaar bid

0

Man United are reportedly preparing a ÂŁ4m January move for Ron Vlaar. The 29-year old’s contract runs out next summer and he will then be available on a free.

So far the defender hasn’t agreed a new deal and despite boss Paul Lambert being desperate to keep hold of him, he may have to let him leave in January, if they want any money for him. One team willing to offer some cash for him in the winter transfer window is Man United.

They believe a cut-price deal could go ahead – worth just ÂŁ4m – because Villa won’t want to let him leave for nothing at the end of the season. Louis Van Gaal is keen on adding another defender to his team and he has reluctantly accepted that Mats Hummels is not for sale.

It leaves him with Vlaar as his main target and the centre-back is believed to be open to a move to Old Trafford, due to the fact he worked under LVG in the Netherlands national team.

United set their eyes on ÂŁ60 million January move for Everton pair

0

Manchester United have set their sites on Everton duo Ross Barkley and Seamus Coleman ahead of a ÂŁ60 million offer for the pair in January. Van Gaal is also set to offer Fellaini back to his old club in order to agree a deal with the Merseyside club.

Although any inclusion of Fellaini would not be on top of the cash offer. Van Gaal wants to beef up his squad in order to battle for a Champions League spot. The Dutchman believes the addition of the two Everton men would aid his sides ambition.

With Mata allegedly off to Juventus in a swap deal with Vidal in January, United will be after a number ten, and Van Gaal sees Barkley as an ideal replacement. Rafael has put in a number of decent performances at right back this season, however, Van Gaal wants Coleman to occupy his right back position. The Everton fullback has matured into one of the best full backs in the Premier League.

An offer of ÂŁ60 million or equivalent could be to hard for Bill Kenwright to resist, would United be able to get a top four place with the addition of Barkley and Coleman?

Wenger: Mourinho provoked me

0

Arsene Wenger and Jose Mourinho have a rivalry so big, that the Frenchman has taken a dig at the Special One when he was apologising for shoving him! During the recent Premier League match between Chelsea and Arsenal, the two bosses confronted each other on the touchline and Wenger even shoved Mourinho.

The Gunners coach has recently apologised for the outburst on French TV Show Telefoot but he believes it was the Portuguese manager who instigated the situation. He said:

“In hindsight I think I should not have reacted at all, it’s not a way to behave on a football field. I always regret any signs of violence and I apologise, but that’s a part of games where everything is manic.

“And then we have quite a substantial past. Did Mourinho provoke me? That is how I felt. I did not enter Chelsea’s technical area.”

Mourinho has also spoken about the incident, but he didn’t say very much about it. He said: “I have no words to explain what everybody else saw in those images.

“Wenger will explain what he wants to explain. I will not say more.”

Juventus to ditch price tag in order to secure swap deal

0

Manchester United look set to finally land Arturo Vidal, after Juventus have decided that they are willing to let the Chilean leave. Although the Turin club want Juan Mata in exchange for Vidal.

United were strongly linked with Vidal throughout the summer, however, Juventus didn’t want to sell. But now it seems they are willing to let the midfield powerhouse leave, in exchange for United playmaker Mata.

If the move is to materialise it will be Mata’s 3rd club in a year after he joined Manchester United from Chelsea last January. The Old Lady are apparently set to ditch Vidal after the midfielder turned up to training late after an alleged nightclub incident.

United are favourites to sign Vidal and are reportedly open to offers for Mata. Who they paid ÂŁ37.1 million for last January. Whether Mata will head to Juventus in exchange for Vidal remains to be seen.

Neil Lennon named as Bolton Wanderers manager

0

Neil Lennon has been named the new manager of Championship side Bolton Wanderers, the club have announced.

Lennon, aged 43 has been annouced as the new manager of the Trotters this lunch-time, after he emerged as the favourite over the weekend.

The appointment of the former Celtic manager, could be seen as a real coup for the Lancashire club, who currently sit bottom of the Championship, after only one win this current season.

Lennon has took over the role vacated by previous manager Dougie Freedman, who left the club earlier this month in the wake of the poor run in the second tier, after two years at the former Premier League outfit.

Former Northern Ireland international midfielder, Lennon, rejected the chance to move to the middle-east, with Saudi-Arabian side Al-Ittihad previously keen on him.

However, Lennon has opted to take his first footsteps into management in England, after resigning from Cetic over the summer.

Several other names were linked to the vacant post at the Macron Stadium, including Steve Clarke, Chris Hughton, and Tony Mowbray, however Chairman Phil Gartside and owner Eddie Davies have settled upon the former Leicester City midfielder.

Whilst at the Glasgow club, he guided Celtic to three Scottish Premiership titles in a row, as well as successful Champions League run during the 2012/13 season, where his Celtic side beat Spanish giants Barcelona during that campaign.

Premier league trio battle for Alves, who wants ÂŁ250,000-a week to play in the top flight

0

Three Premier league sides are all keen on Barcelona full-back Daniel Alves, who will leave the Spanish club in the summer.

Manchester City, Chelsea and Manchester United are all set to to battle for the Brazil international, who has recently stated that he wants ÂŁ250,000 a week to play in England’s top flight.

The 31 year old revealed his plans to leave Barcelona last month, and end his playing career in England, with several top clubs put on red alert.

Alves, who played at the World Cup in the summer for the host nation, has made 193 appearances for Barcelona since signing from fellow La Liga side Sevilla in 2008.

The front-runners at this moment in time seem to be Chelsea, who are willing to pay his whopping wage demands in full to lure Alves to West London.

AC Milan couldn’t wait to let Balotelli leave

0

AC Milan director Umberto Gandini has revealed that the Italian club were delighted to sell Mario Balotelli to Liverpool in the summer.

Balotelli signed for Liverpool in a ÂŁ16 million fee, and has only managed to score once for the Reds this season, following his move from Italy.

And the quotes from Gandini suggest that the Serie A club could not wait to get the controversial 24 year old off their hands.

Balotelli spent 18 months at Milan, after a move from Manchester City in the January of 2013. His return to England has also seen him bropped from the Italian national team, with Antonio Conte refusing to select the striker for their up-coming qualification games.

Gandini said: “We all felt coming to Italy, to a place where he was loved, would have been the ideal environment for him to blossom into a star player.

“But it didn’t work out for both sides.

“Mario was not the kind of player we were looking for in order to have a better team on the pitch.

“On the other hand, he probably felt the Premier League was the best stage for him to perform on and he wanted to go back there.

“So Liverpool came at just the right time. It just made everyone happy.” Though Balotelli had an impressive record of 26 goals in 43 league games with the Italian giants, Gandini reckons being asked to play as a lone striker was to blame for a gradual decline in form.

Jose Mourinho reveals PSG snub

0

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has revealed that he snubbed the chance to manage French side, Paris Saint-Germain, on two separate occasions.

In a recent interview, Mourinho admitted that he was Leonardo’s first choice as manager after the club wanted to replace Antoine KombouarĂ© back in 2011.

Eventually, the club’s director of football picked Carlo Ancelotti to be manager, but Mourinho has stated that he was offered the job twice before the Italian took over.

Mourinho said: “I’ve turned down PSG twice. I was Leonardo’s first choice (ahead of Ancelotti)”

Ancelotti then went on to leave the club and replace Mourinho at Real Madrid after the Portuguese re-joined Chelsea.

Atletico Madrid interested in Petr Cech

0

Atletico Madrid are interested in signing Chelsea goalkeeper, Petr Cech, after he was dropped to the bench for the 2014/2015 season.

Blues boss, Jose Mourinho, made the tough decision at the start of the campaign to give youngster, Thibaut Courtois, the number-one jersey ahead of Cech, leaving the veteran on the bench for all-but two games so far.

The 32-year-old has recently been very open in an interview admitting that if the circumstances don’t change, he will be forced to leave Stamford Bridge, ending his 10-year stay at the club, where he has gone on to make over 500 appearances, and keep over 150 clean-sheets.

With Cech’s future in doubt, the club that developed Courtois for three seasons, could be in line to sign the man he replaced in England.

Atletico are monitoring Cech’s situation at The Bridge, and last year’s La Liga winners may put a bid in for the Czech Republic star in January.
