Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is ‘furious’ with key man Mesut Ozil after he missed the game against West Bromwich Albion on Saturday due to a hamstring concern.

The attacking midfielder seemed to rule himself out of the visit to the Hawthorns, but is still going on international duty with Germany as they prepare to take on England in a Friendly.

Ozil has been a little inconsistent as of late, and may have pressed Wenger’s button too far this time with reports claiming that the French gaffer is now willing to let him leave the Emirates Stadium in the summer transfer window.

The 28-year-old was looking forward to heading off to international duty and may have been too cautious by missing the Gunners game against the Baggies, according to The Sun.

Arsenal were beaten 3-1 against West Brom as they suffered another grim result which sees them slip further behind the top four.

The defeat followed recent Champions League results, as the Gunners lost 10-2 on aggregate against German giants Bayern Munich in the last-16 stage.

Ozil’s contract with Arsenal is due to expire at the end of next season and negotiations over an extension have been stalled a couple of times, with Wenger now prepared to cash in on the former Real Madrid ace.
