Arsenal have now identified Borussia Dortmund’s Aubameyang as an ideal candidate to replace Sanchez with. Aubameyang is also open to a move away from Dortmund with the player being left out of the last game due to “disciplinary actions”.
The striker is desperate to move on from his club before the end of this transfer window. Arsene Wenger is set to offer £30m plus Oliver Giroud for the 28-year-old.
“Depending on the offers which are made, we will sit around a table and talk,” his agent Michael Manuello said last month.
‘The most important thing is to know what is going to be offered or not this winter to find a better game project. Now, again, this project has to present itself.”
Dortmund chief Michael Zorc hinted that Aubameyang may have played his last game for the club after he was left out of the side’s goalless draw with Wolfsburg.
“At some point, you can’t tolerate it anymore,” Zorc said.
“I don’t know what’s going on inside his head. We had a very contentious discussion today. We’re not used to this behaviour from him.
“What is going on now is not to be tolerated by the club. It is clear: It cannot go on like this. I don’t know what is going through his mind. I don’t recognise him anymore. There is trouble in the team and that is not good.”
