Borussia Dortmund forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has confirmed that he attracted interest from Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid in the summer transfer window.
The Gabon international is one of the most wanted strikers in Europe at the moment, having scored 87 goals in just 150 games during his three seasons at Dortmund.
Aubameyang admitted that his slick performances have meant there has been constant demand from French giants PSG.
“At the end of my first season in the Bundesliga, there has been contact,” he told Onze Mondial magazine.
“The next summer too. In fact, almost every year there have been contacts.”
The 27-year-old also revealed that Manchester City were in advanced talks with his representative before the start of the new campaign.
“Yes, it’s true. There have been discussions,” he said.
“My father spoke with the club but nothing in the final concrete.”
Aubameyang has stated in the past that his dream is to play for Spanish giants Real Madrid but the striker insists that he was not trying to catch the eye of the Champions League holders.
“I think there was an interest but it was not further.” he said.
“I was asked in interview: ‘What is the club of your dreams?’ I replied ‘Real is my heart club and I made a promise to my grandfather to play there one day, I hope it will happen.’
“It’s just a goal, I still have time.
“But I did not do that to pique the interest of the club and try to attract them.
“I do not need that now.
“If they want me, they will come, if they don’t, too bad.
“Now I know that there has been contact.”
