Winger’s clause was a whopping £107million

FC Barcelona have reportedly slashed Pedro’s release clause in his contract from a staggering £107million, to just £21.5m, alerting four Premier League clubs.

The Spaniard signed a new contract at the Nou Camp last season, seemingly ending speculation regarding his future, but according to reports, officials at Barca have made a change to his contract and his release clause.

Changes alert Premier League Quartet

The four-year extension came with a staggering £107m release clause, however, they have diminished that since and it’s now worth just £21.5m.

The news will alert Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool, all whom have shown interest in the winger over recent years.

Competition for Places

Pedro‘s release clause may have changed after the club announced a deal to sign Atletico Madrid‘s Arda Turan once their transfer embargo is lifted.

The Turkey international will be available for Barca in January, and it’s thought Pedro could then leave the Catalan club. The 27-year-old is already behind Lionel Messi and Neymar in the squad and it’s likely that he’ll be behind Turan too.

Pedro is wanted across Europe, with the four Premier League teams interested, as well as Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain, but according to reports, the winger is holding out for a move to England if he does ever leave Barcelona.
