“Bring BACK this City star!” says Thierry Henry

Thierry Henry believes Joe Hart deserves the chance to come back to Manchester City and prove his worth under Pep Guardiola.

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry thinks it’s time for a change at Manchester City (again), and with Claudio Bravo so far failing to live up to expectations, the Frenchman believes Joe Hart should be recalled from his loan in Torino.

Bravo has been what can only been described in a nice way as – underwhelming, since arriving in Manchester, the Chilean goalkeeper has looked far from convincing since signing in August. Given that Guardiola exiled England No1 Joe Hart to Torino to make room for the former Barcelona stopper, Bravo’s poor form has been something that simply cannot be ignored any longer.

And in Manchester City’s most recent stumble, a 4-0 thumping at the hands of Everton at Goodison Park, Bravo again struggled, as the defence in front of him crumbled to dust. Unsurprisingly (it tends to happen when you let in four goals), the keeper was yet again placed under the microscope.

Looking closer at the stats, you’ll find that at the end of the horror show for the City faithful, Bravo had conceded 14 of the last 22 shots on target he had faced in the league.

Bravo has conceded three more goals from those 22 shots than ANY other keeper in England’s top flight.

Keeping in mind that your job, as a goalkeeper – is to stop shots on target turning into goals, this stat could help formulate an argument for Claudio Bravo being at this moment, the worst goalkeeper in the Premier League – Sorry, Pep..

And former Arsenal man Henry believes that City have nothing to lose by bringing back Englishman Hart. “We are talking about a goalkeeper and they had one in Joe Hart. They have a good goalkeeper and maybe he can come back and have a chance. Maybe it’s the right time for him to come back and see what he can do under Pep.”

Harsh reading for Bravo and Pep, but maybe, just maybe, it’s time to face the music and accept that Guardiola got this one wrong.
