Nathaniel Clyne has been linke with switch to Old Trafford following an impressive spell with Southampton.
But United are now not expected to begin their pursuit of the defender alone after reports emerged claiming Chelsea are also interested in acquring the 23 year-old’s services.
Clyne has less than a year and half left on his current Saints contract following his switch from Crystal Palace back in 2012.
Southampton are keen to get Clyne to sign a new deal but no agreement has yet been reached leaving Chelsea and Manchester United on high alert.
The Saints looked in trouble last summer after selling several of their key first team players but under Roanld Koeman they have looked a changed side and will be hoping to avoid another mass clearout after May.
