Blues planning massive expansion on current ground

Chelsea Football Club may fave having an away game every week for the next three years with the club planning massive expansions to their current ground.

Stamford Bridge only holds 41,837, meaning it’s one of the smallest grounds for a substantially big club, leaving The Blues trailing behind other clubs in England and around Europe.

Stadium Expansion Plans

The plans in the pipeline would see The Bridge expand to a 67,000 seater, making it the second-biggest in England, only behind Manchester United‘s Old Trafford, but going ahead of Arsenal‘s Emirates Stadium.

Although it seems easier to make a permanent switch away from the current ground, Chelsea have ruled out leaving Stamford Bridge and have chosen to do work on the current stadium.

Officials at the club will present their blueprints and ideas to a supporters group at the end of the month to get their opinions on the projected plans for the ground.

Potential Home Grounds

As for Chelsea’s home games, initial reports are suggesting they could use Wembley or even Twickenham Stadium, home of England rugby.
