Goalkeeper’s personal coach admits he wants move to North London

Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech is desperate to join London rivals Arsenal, according to his personal goalkeeping coach.

Christophe Lollichon, who has worked as Cech‘s coach for the past decade, has admitted that the goalkeeper has eyes on a move to the Emirates Stadium as he appreciates the way the club operates and their philosophy.

Cech has been strongly linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge this Summer, ending his 11-year association with the club, after dropping behind Thibaut Courtois in the squad.

Cech’s Bridge Battle

Courtois returned from a three-year loan spell away at Atletico Madrid and was made Chelsea‘s new number-one by Jose Mourinho ahead of the 2014/2015 campaign, leaving Cech on the bench.

Despite his desire to stay and fight for his spot, Cech has failed to win back the number-one role and has been left with limited game-time throughout the campaign.

After snubbing a move away last year, Cech is finally ready to leave Stamford Bridge, but only has his eyes on a London team, in particular, Arsenal.

The goalkeeper doesn’t want to relocate his settled family and will refuse to move anywhere else, especially abroad, all-but ruling out Paris Saint-Germain.

However, Mourinho is desperate to avoid selling the ‘keeper to a direct rival, despite Roman Abramovich willing to process the deal.

It does eventually look like Mourinho will lose Cech to Arsenal, and the goalkeeper’s coach has stirred things more by praising the North London outfit.

Coach Reveals Arsenal Advantage

‘The advantage is that Arsenal is a top club with a philosophy that pleases him and this is in London. It is a base for consideration,’ said Lollichon.

‘He wants to stay in England but I don’t know where are the discussions. The Premier League is his primary objective but it will also depend on the conditions.

‘I think he still has three or four excellent seasons in him.’
