Chelsea’s replacement for Michael Emenalo

Blues fans are wondering who will fill Emenalo’s position, however, according to the London Evening Standard, Chelsea may not fill the position at all

According to the London-based out-let, the Blues may not fill the position at all. Readers are told:

Director Marina Granovskaia, who is currently primarily in charge of transfer negotiations, is now taking over his duties for the time being.

Now that Emenalo has gone, the club are discussing what happens next – and Standard Sport understands that one of the options being discussed is not appointing anyone to fulfil the same role.

Granovskaia will have to decide whether she is prepared to take on the extra workload. Some of Emenalo’s responsibilities could be delegated to staff already at the club or someone could be hired in a lesser position.

If that proves to be true, then Marina Granovskaia will be even more important, and powerful, at Chelsea.

That’s likely to be bad news for manager Antonio Conte, who has been outspoken with criticisms about the club’s movement in last summer’s transfer market.
