Chelsea outcast Diego Costa has released an official statement calling on the Blues to allow him a transfer back to his former club Atletico Madrid.

The Spain international’s future has been up in the air all summer, with AC Milan also linked with him on occasion due to Atletico’s issues with a transfer ban until January.

This has caused some reports to claim that the Blues may take legal action against the 28-year-old, who has now issued his demand of his own as he expects to make the move back to Atletico.

‘My destination is already made,’ he said. ‘I must return to Atletico Madrid.

‘It turns out that there is the impasse that Chelsea does not want to release me.

‘But I believe that this situation will be resolved now on my return to Spain.’
