Guus Hiddink confirms loan-striker may be available
Chelsea interim-manager Guus Hiddink has confirmed Alexandre Pato could be available for the Aston Villa game this weekend.
The Brazilian arrived at Chelsea back in January after agreeing to a six-month loan deal from Corinthians. However, he is yet to kick a ball for the Blues and is nearing the end of his contract at Stamford Bridge.
Fans have already questioned the club’s decision to bring Pato in on a short-term deal if he isn’t fit enough to play, but according to Hiddink, he could make his debut this weekend.
Chelsea take on Aston Villa and Hiddink believes there could be a spot in the team for the Brazilian.
Pato Could Feature
“Will he be actively involved? We will see tomorrow. We have now eight games coming up, but there isn’t much to play for so it might be time for experiments,” said Hiddink.
“He has worked very hard in the international break.
“I have tried to make fair judgement and give others knocking on the door – like Traore – fair opportunity as well.”
