Tottenham Hotspur have approach snubbed by Louis Van Gaal

Tottenham Hotspur have had an official approach for Javier Hernandez turned down by Manchester United.

The striker is set to be given a second chance at Old Trafford after spending last year out on loan with Real Madrid, and with Wayne Rooney the only other striker at the club, Louis van Gaal wants to keep the Mexican at the club.

As for Spurs, they are in the market for a new striker in order to partner Harry Kane, with Roberto Soldado leaving for Villarreal and Emmanuel Adebayor set to leave as well.

Spurs’ Striker Quest

Mauricio Pochettino has already been turned down in his quest for West Bromwich Albion striker Saido Berahino, and he’s been snubbed once again, this time by United.

The Red Devils informed Spurs that they wouldn’t be selling Hernandez unless they sign a replacement first, which isn’t looking likely with the transfer window shutting on Tuesday.

Hernandez may have to accept his role as back-up at Old Trafford, unless the club find a suitable replacement for the 27-year-old.
