Manager wants transfer activity to speed up

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is reportedly frustrated with the slowness of the club’s activity in the transfer window and has urged the board to splash more cash.

The Blues have signed Radamel Falcao on a season-long loan from AS Monaco and are on the brink of signing Asmir Begovic from Stoke City, but Mourinho wants more deals done and done quicker.

Chelsea‘s rivals are all signing new faces, with Arsenal signing one, Manchester United signing one, but closing in on two more, whilst Manchester City are set to announce their first summer signing in the form of Fabian Delph.

Chelsea’s Transfer Plans

Mourinho has already outlined to the board what he wants to sign this summer, with a goalkeeper, defender, midfielder and a striker all on his radar.

However, with Begovic nearly done and Falcao signed on loan, it looks like Mourinho wants just two more players.

According to reports however, the manager is growing frustrated by how slowly the board are getting things done and wants them to show more urgency in the window.

Board Not Planning Signings?

To make things worse for Mourinho, there are discussions going on behind the scenes at Stamford Bridge claiming that they don’t need to make major changes to the squad due to their dominance in the league last season.

The Blues strolled to the Premier League title and also lifted the Capital One Cup, so some board members are advising the club not to spend more money on transfer fees.

It’s reported that some officials want the money saved and to go towards to redevelopment of the stadium, which is set to cost the club over ÂŁ500million.
