Loftus-Cheek is currently on loan at Crystal Palace for this season, and has made his England debut in the 0-0 draw against Germany last Friday, from that he’s expected to keep his place for Tuesday’s friendly against Brazil at Wembley.
Loftus-Cheek isn’t expected to be moved on at the end of his temporary stay with the south east London club at the end of the campaign and will be in Antonio Conte’s thoughts for next season.
Sutton, speaking on 5 Live Sport, is the latest pundit to shower praise on the midfielder after his stellar display at Wembley last week.
Sutton, when asked by another former Chelsea player in Pat Nevin if Loftus-Cheek was already better than the Spaniard, said: “Yes, yes I do. But didn’t Conte use him as a centre forward one time?
“Theres no reason Loftus-Cheek couldn’t go back to Chelsea and be a starter next season.”
