Manchester United have made a fresh approach to sign Nice star Jean Michael Seri, according to reports.
There are rumours that Paul Pogba regrets returning to United ahead of the 2016/17 campaign and the Red Devils are scouring the market for possible replacements.
The 26-year-old midfielder is being heavily linked with a £35million move to Old Trafford in the summer transfer window.
The Daily Mirror suggests United have made fresh contact with Seri over replacing Pogba. Barcelona were on the cusp of landing Seri last summer but the deal collapsed.
United have been monitoring Seri for some time and sent an official to monitor the Ivorian in the Europa League at the start of this month.
Mourinho has started with Pogba on the bench for United’s recent clashes with Huddersfield and Sevilla.
Roy Keane defended Pogba amid his recent struggles and insisted that the Frenchman’s team-mates must take some of the blame. “Pogba is a really good player. He is under a lot of pressure at the moment, there is a lot of speculation about him, he was left out tonight – but you’d still have him in your starting XI,” he said on ITV.
“Off the field, he has a big personality – social media, his haircuts, the cars he drives, he needs to bring that on the pitch.”
“United’s problems aren’t just with Pogba. Lukaku needs to do more, Sanchez has got to do better, they need to reinvest in some defenders. You can’t keep pointing the finger at Pogba, but the lad has got to do better.”
