Tottenham Hotspur are among a host of Premier League outfits who are monitoring the progress of Bolton Wanderers midfielder, Luca Connell.

Mauricio Pochettino is expected to send his scouts to watch the 17-year-old take the pitch against Reading on Tuesday. Southampton, Burnley and Brighton & Hove Albion are also interested in the teenager.

Connell was handed his debut for the senior Bolton side on 5th January in the 5-2 FA Cup 3rd Round victory over Walsall. He later made an assist against Bristol City in his first start for the Wanderers.

The Republic of Ireland youth international has represented his country at U17 and U18 levels 7 times. He is a versatile presence on the pitch, sometimes even appearing from the fullback position.

Connell is naturally left-footed and likes to operate from the deep-lying midfield spot. Born in Liverpool, he joined the Bolton academy when he was only 9 years old. His contract with the Championship outfit is set to end in another 6 months, forcing Bolton to look into options of selling him right now.

Tottenham are known to be an ideal climate for young professionals to develop into elite level footballers. We have seen plenty of names like Dele Alli, Harry Kane, Harry Winks, Kyle Walker and Danny Rose get recognised as formidable figures in the English top-flight under the Mauricio Pochettino management.

Connell can certainly expect to get a massive jump in his career ladder if he makes the switch to the White Hart Lane.
