In honour of the historical figure that is Nelson Madiba Mandela the PL matches will be holding a minutes applause. Mandela died at the age of 95 yesterday in a South African hospital. The first match of the weekend is Manchester United against Newcastle and they will be having the applause for Mandela. All of the other games on saturday and sunday will be remembering the South African as well.
The FA Cup 2nd round will also feature an applause for him as well. Saracens players will wear black armbands at the Heinken Cup Rugby match against Zebre in Parma.
