Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed that injury-prone midfielder Abou Diaby will return to the first-team on April Fools Day, but fear not Arsenal fans, this is no prank.
The Gunners boss was talking in his press conference ahead of the clash with Manchester City, and when questioned about the Frenchman’s fitness levels, Wenger confirmed that he’ll be back in just over a month.
Diaby, who suffered ligament damage last year, hasn’t featured since March 2013, and despite Wenger doubting whether or not the 27-year-old will play again, he has confirmed that he will be back on April 1st.
‘Diaby is coming back now,’ said Wenger.
‘He had a preparation in France, where he had his rehab, and will be back on April 1st.
‘I cannot predict now how much time it will take him to be competitive, but I will have a good surprise when I see him.’
