AC Milan are reportedly set to make a move for Manchester United target William Carvalho.
The Portugal international has impressed for Sporting Lisbon over the past few seasons and as such has caught the attention of a number of clubs around Europe.
United have been tracking the Lisbon midfielder for a number of transfer windows and were believed to be set to make their move January.
But according to Italian website Tuttomercatoweb Milan are set to make an offer for Carvalho after cooling on a move for Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira.
The Italian club’s change of heart could instead hand a boost to United’s Premier League rivals Chelsea and Arsenal, who are both hoping to complete a deal for Khedira.
Chelsea believe they have the upper hand as they can offer Petr Cech on a six month loan as part of any deal.
