This player was on loan at Milan last season

AC Milan manager Filippo Inzaghi admits he wants Chelsea midfielder Marco van Ginkel on loan for a second consecutive season.

The Dutch playmaker spent the last campaign on loan at the San Siro from Jose Mourinho’s Blues, and despite having injuries he has enjoyed an excellent end to the season in Serie A.

Van Ginkel helped Milan to a solid 3-0 victory over Torino in their most recent match, providing two assists for his teammates. Such form has prompted Inzaghi to try and secure Van Ginkel’s signature for a second term.

‘He has grown a lot’

In a recent interview, Inzaghi acknowledged: “Unfortunately he is not our player, but he has grown a lot. He has played seven or eight games in a row and we are starting to see a great player.”

He also added: “He does really well in training. Chelsea have great midfielders and he is need of playing.”

The 22-year old has scored a solitary goal in 17 appearances in all competitions this campaign.

“My will would be if possible to keep him because he can give us a big hand,” Inzaghi conceded.
