Achraf Hakimi is interested in playing as his loan deal with Borussia Dortmund draws down to an end.
He has starred for the Bundesliga outfit for the past two seasons, being sent out to develop by Real Madrid.
The Moroccan international took advantage of the situation and has emerged as a major attacking piece to this young BVB side. He is highly versatile on the pitch, appearing both as a fullback and a winger under Lucien Favre. Hakimi was once again a major influence on the pitch last night in Dortmund’s 2-1 win over PSG.
When asked about his future in Germany, Hakimi said, “That’s what people say and the contract I have signed. Everything can happen in June, but we’ll see what the summer holds. In my head is that I want to play and I want to continue growing. Here in Germany, they are giving me the opportunity.”
Was a slight at Real Madrid? Could very well be. Hakimi was also pleased with his teammate, Erling Haaland, who scored both goals for BVB. “We have prepared the game quite well and it worked out well,” Achraf added. “Haaland has helped us a lot and we hope it stays that way. He [Haaland] has been smart. He is still young and knows he has to play.”
