Manchester United have been dealt a huge transfer boost with the news that Ajax are prepared to sell defender, Daley Blind, as long as the offer is right.

The Red Devils have had a nightmare start to life under Louis Van Gaal, drawing one and losing two, including a 4-0 hammering at the hands of League One side MK Dons in the Capital One Cup, but after signing Angel Di Maria from Real Madrid, the Dutchman is finally putting together the team he wants.

Van Gaal is now keen to reunite with Blind, who he coached at the World Cup with Netherlands, and the Premier League side are prepared to offer up to £18m for the defender, who can also play in midfielder.

Speaking about their player’s future, Ajax had this to say:

‘We want to keep Blind for another year, but if the offer is high, we’re happy to talk,’ said Overmars to De Telegraaf.

‘There is some movement around Blind – people are enquiring here and there.’
