According to Sky Sources, Arsenal and England winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is set to miss 10 days to three weeks with a knee injury, which leaves his World Cup dreams all-but shattered.

The youngster fell down awkwardly under a challenge from an Ecuardorian, and immiediately asked to be substituted, before hobbling off and going straight down the tunnel.

After the game, Roy Hodgson feared that it would be knee ligament damage for The Ox, but according to sky today, it’s not as bad as first feared, but it’s still a setback to his World Cup dream.

With the competition starting in just seven days, it is likely Chamberlain will miss all three England group games, and would struggle to be fit in time for the knockout stages, if England were to progress that far.
