Chelsea midfielder, Andre Schurrle, has revealed his intentions of staying at Stamford Bridge, despite the lack of first-team football.

The German international has struggled for first-team appearances this season due to the wealth of options Jose Mourinho has in the midfield, but after scoring in last night’s comfortable 3-1 victory over Sporting Lisbon in the Champions League, the 24-year-old revealed his desire to stay in West London.

Due to falling down the pecking order at The Bridge, Schurrle was strongly linked with a move away from the club, but last night, he reiterated his desire to stay put and fight for a first-team spot.

Schurrle told The Evening Standard: “Of course I can just laugh all the talk of leaving off. I am not going to change the club in the transfer window.

“I am happy where I am, I am happy in London. I love the city, I love the fans. We have a great team and want to win something this season.

“This is where I belong and where I want to help. I know what the manager wants for me and that he likes me.”

Schurrle has been recently linked with a shock move to either Liverpool or Tottenham Hotspur, but he has put all those rumours to bed with his recent comments.
