Former-Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas did not want to sign four of the seven players that the club eventually brought in in the Summer to replace outgoing Gareth Bale.
According to reports, Villas-Boas held a meeting with chairman Daniel Levy and told him not to sign; Erik Lamela, Nacer Chadli, Vlad Chiriches and Christian Eriksen, the quartet that cost the club a whopping £56million, including just £30m on Lamela.
Despite not wanting the four above mentioned, Boas did play a part in the signings of; Paulinho, Etienne Capoue and Roberto Soldado, as he wanted all four of them to join White Hart Lane.
So during the Summer, Villas-Boas got three players he wanted, but four he didn’t want, and it has been made public knowledge that if he had his way, he would have signed; Hulk, Joao Moutinho and David Villa.
Unfortunately though for the Portuguese manager, Spurs did not sign any of his suggestions and the eventual new-comers have all struggled to adapt to Premier League football and their short-comings eventually cost Boas his job after some serious defeats in recent weeks.
