Anthony Martial will enter the final six months of his Man United contract.
The Frenchman will be out of contract next summer and United have the option to trigger a one-year contract extension.
He has made 19 appearances for the Red Devils this season but has managed to register two goals and two assists.
Martial could never realise his full potential at Old Trafford and will be expected to end his nine-year spell with the Red Devils when the ongoing season concludes.
He has scored 90 goals in 317 appearances, lifting an FA Cup, League Cup, and Europa League across his nine years at the club.
Transfer pundit Fabrizio Romano revealed that Man United are keen to remove the Frenchman from their salary budget.
“There are also fresh rumours surrounding Anthony Martial’s future, and my understanding is that the situation remains same as July/August; with an important proposal, Martial could leave in January.”
Martial has struggled for form this season scoring just once in 13 Premier League appearances.
Erik ten Hag would be applauded for sanctioning Martial’s release and replacing him with a better fit in the upcoming January transfer window.
In 2015, Martial became the most valuable teenager in the sport’s history when he signed a £36 million contract with Manchester United.
