Cesc Fabregas could be dropped for Chelsea’s clash with Liverpool
Antonio Conte has hinted that he will rest Cesc Fabregas for Chelsea’s clash with Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday.
The Spaniard’s started 16 of Chelsea’s 19 matches so far this term after playing a bit-part role in the Blues’ title-winning campaign last season.
Liverpool are favourites at Anfield but arrive into the game on the back of a 3-3 draw against Sevilla in which the Reds threw away a three-goal lead.
‘Last season, maybe he didn’t deserve to start the games but now he’s deserving to play regularly,’ said Conte. ‘At the same time I understand he needs a bit of rest because he’s playing every game. ‘Now I have four midfielders in good form and I need to have rotation.’
However, the Blues have arrived in Liverpool ahead of Saturday’s Premier League meeting with the Reds.
And Cesc Fabregas was with them but attempted to hide his identity from the press by covering his face with a blue beanie for some reason.
