Manager wants star to remind in London
Antonio Conte has urged star-man Eden Hazard to stay at Chelsea until his career ends.
Chelsea are favourites to win the Premier League this season and Hazard’s performances on the pitch have driven the Blues towards that success, but that kind of form has come with a cost.
Hazard is being targeted for a summer move by European champions Real Madrid, who are willing to make a world-record bid to sign the number 10.
However, his current boss, Antonio Conte, has urged the Belgian to resist temptation to move abroad and stay in England until the end of his career,
“It is very important to stay, to feel that you stay in the right place with ambition,” Conte told the Independent. “When you arrive at being a top player, you want to fight to win and be competitive in every trophy you have to play for.
“We are building something important together. We have just started our building [work]. Now we are putting the foundations in.
“If we are able to win the league this season, we will be doing an incredible path, an incredible thing because we are in a moment that the club is in transition. A lot of old players have finished their careers at Chelsea.
“To win this season is great, we are putting great foundations down to build something important for the future. The players feel this.
“In this situation I think it is very important the will of the player,” he said. “If the player is happy and knows he will stay in a great team with great ambition, I don’t see any problem.
“Even if the [interested] club is Real Madrid. We are a great club.”
