Potential Chelsea boss won’t have final say on dealings

Antonio Conte will not have final say or total control over transfer dealings should he take over at Chelsea, according to reports.

The Italian is heavily backed to take over at Stamford Bridge in the summer, replacing interim-manager Guus Hiddink once the European Championships have come to their conclusion.

Conte released a statement earlier in the week confirming he was leaving his role with Italy, and the Italian FA also released a statement confirming they’ve accepted that the manager will be leaving after the Euros.

Transfer Control

However, in a potential twist, Conte has reportedly been told by the Chelsea board that he won’t have full control over transfers.

Previous managers at Stamford Bridge have had to work under the same regime, and it will be no different for Conte should he take the job.

Despite being heavily linked with leaving the club, Michael Emenalo, the club’s technical director, and other members on the club’s board will still have the final say on dealings and will still control the majority of the transfers.

However, the Italian will be asked about who should be sold from the club, but could have little say on the players that arrive.
