Italian wants £6million-a-season at Chelsea
Antonio Conte’s contract demands have been revealed and according to reports, the Italian wants £6million-a-season to manage Chelsea.
Conte, who is currently head-coach of Italy‘s national team, is set to leave his role following the summer’s European Championships, and he’s already confirmed he wants a return to club management.
The Italian is heavily tipped to replace Guus Hiddink at Stamford Bridge at the end of the season, signing a three-year deal at Chelsea after holding several talks with Roman Abramovich.
Conte has seemingly beaten the likes of Diego Simeone and Massimiliano Allegri to the hot-seat at Chelsea, but his contract demands are staggering.
Demands
According to reports, the 46-year-old wants £6m-a-season, which will see him earn £18m over the three years.
This demand came after the Chelsea board initially offered him a contract worth £14.25m, which works out to being £4.75m-a-season.
It’s believed Conte wants a better package due to him leaving his current role for the job, but his demands are currently causing a stumbling block in the negotiations.
It’s believed that Abramovich‘s right-hand woman Marina Granovskaia is dealing with the negotiations.
