West Ham star Marko Arnautovic has made it clear that he is not leaving the club this month. There were many reports claiming that Arnautovic was not happy at West Ham and wanted to leave the club. Two Chinese clubs, namely, Shanghai SIPG and Guangzhou Evergrande were interested in signing but West Ham did not want an offer less than ÂŁ50 million for the Austrian.

However, Arnautovic himself has said that he is committed to the club. The 29-year old wrote on Instagram, “I guess it’s no secret that there has been an offer for me and I have to admit that the offer was a very tempting one for me and my family. I’ve given 100 per cent to my club duties but I have also needed some time to talk to my club, my wife and the rest of my family.

I have now decided to put a stop to all the writings and speculation. I’m a professional footballer and the only thing I know in life is to play football. It’s clear that London and West Ham United feels like home for me and I hope the West Ham fans have always seen that.

The club has pointed my career in the right direction since I joined and therefore I want to put the offers aside, help the club climb as high as possible in the table and try to win the [FA] Cup. Let’s focus on the rest of this season together and let them bubbles fly.”

Arnautovic joined West Ham from Stoke City in the summer of 2017. He has since made 53 appearances for the club, scoring 19 goals and providing 10 assists. This season, the Austria international has made 18 appearances for the Hammers, netting 8 goals and providing two assists. Arnautovic will hope to put in a strong performance is tomorrow’s FA Cup encounter against AFC Wimbledon.
