FC Porto striker Jackson Martinez is set to snub interest from Premier League duo Arsenal and Chelsea by signing a new deal at the Portuguese club.

The Colombian striker has been heavily monitored by both English teams and it was believed that both would launch formal bids this month, but now it appears that any potential move for the striker is off.

Martinez has already scored 15 goals for Porto and was even scouted personally by Jose Mourinho, who is desperate to strengthen his attacking options after his strikers haven’t really been firing on all cylinders this season.

As for Arsene Wenger, he is also eager to sign a new striker to help the workload that is currently all on Olivier Giroud’s shoulders.

The Frenchman has been the lone striker at the Emirates Stadium for the majority of the season, and Wenger is keen to add depth to his potential title-winning side.

Martinez is currently contracted until 2016 at Porto, but his agent has confirmed that he will be talking to the club next week to discuss a renewal.

“It is okay, I will travel to Porto next week to discuss the renewal. There is already an agreement to renew,” Manso said.
