Arsenal have now become favourites over rival clubs Liverpool and Manchester City to sign Borussia Monchengladbach star Granit Xhaka.
After himself admitting that it was a dream of his to play in the English Premier League, the Swiss midfielder has been linked with a number of clubs, the most notable being Arsenal, Liverpool and Man City.
Arsene Menger has reportedly held talks with the agent of the youngster, perhaps leading people to believe that the Gunners are now strong favourites to sign him.
After recent speculation that Manchester City wanted to sign him, he was seen saying “Should I one day want to make the next step, it also has to be an improvement.
“But true, it’s difficult to say no when Manchester City want you and you could play there. That much I have to admit. But I certainly am not the only one.”
Should any of these clubs want to sign the young player this summer, it is claimed Xhaka has a £33.8million release clause in his contract- a hefty sum of money for any unproven 23 year old player.
