Liverpool are prepared to launch a shock £31.4m bid for Juventus striker Alvaro Morata, according to various reports in Italy.
The young Spanish striker has been a large part of Juventus’ success since joining from Real Madrid in 2014. The spell at the Italian giants saw great performances in Europe also, putting him on the radar for many clubs around the globe.
He scored a total 15 goals last season and has found the net 10 times so far this campaign.
Italian News outlet Tuttosport claim Liverpool are now lining up a summer move for the former Real Madrid man as Jurgen Klopp looks to add more goals to his squad- something that the likes of Christian Benteke hasn’t really injected so far this season.
Klopp Looks to rebuild:
The enthusiastic German is looking to completely revamp the reds this summer, with multiple incomings and outgoings said to be in the pipeline already. Morata could be perfect to replace Christian Benteke with the Belgian expected to be moved on.
Morata has been heavily linked with a move away from Juventus in recent weeks.
Two possible snags in the deal are that Real Madrid are able to re-sign Morata for £26m this summer having inserted a buy-back clause when they let the 23-year-old leave the Santiago Bernabeu for £26m. Another is that without the Merseyside club playing Champions League football next season, this could deter the young Spanish star from joining.
Arsenal and Manchester United have also been linked with big money moves when the transfer window reopens.
